Whole Life Insurance with Anil Khanchandani
Whole Life • Anil Khanchandani, CLTC®
A lasting need. A premium you can maintain.
Whole Life is permanent life insurance built around a death benefit and cash value. It may fit a long-term family or legacy need when you want contractual predictability and can sustain the premium commitment.
Anil helps you compare coverage, costs and trade-offs—without an obligation to buy.
Who might find it useful?
A need that may not end
You want funds available for final expenses or a legacy, rather than protection only while a mortgage or other temporary obligation remains.
A budget built for the commitment
You value stated policy guarantees and can maintain the required premiums. Early surrender values may be much lower than the premiums you paid.
Start with your budget. If you need a larger initial death benefit for a limited period, compare term life insurance before choosing permanent coverage.
Know what is guaranteed—and what is not
- Premiums and payment period: traditional Whole Life typically states its premiums in the contract. Ask how long payments are required; “permanent” does not mean “pay once.”
- Death benefit and cash value: review the guaranteed schedule and policy conditions. Guarantees depend on the issuing insurer’s claims-paying ability.
- Dividends: participating policies may offer them, but they are not guaranteed. An illustrated value is not a promise.
- Optional benefits: availability, qualifications and costs vary by policy and state. Do not assume every policy includes living benefits or long-term care coverage.
Cash value is part of an insurance policy
Cash value is not the same as premiums paid or an everyday savings account. Ask about early surrender values, loan interest and what your beneficiaries would receive.
Loans can reduce the death benefit and contribute to lapse if not managed. Surrender ends coverage. Accessing policy value may have tax consequences; consult your tax adviser, especially if a policy with a loan could lapse or be surrendered.
For a different permanent policy structure, explore IUL. For legacy and ownership questions, review estate funding and involve your attorney.
Bring three things to your conversation
- Your goal: who or what you want to protect.
- A premium budget you can maintain over time.
- Details of existing coverage, if any.
Ask for guaranteed and non-guaranteed values separately, the full payment schedule and the effect of stopping payments. Do not cancel existing coverage before reviewing replacement costs, new underwriting and when any new coverage takes effect.
Whole Life questions, answered
Is Whole Life coverage guaranteed for my lifetime?
Whole Life is designed for lifetime protection when the required premiums and policy conditions are met. Review the contract’s guarantees, exclusions and any effect of outstanding loans. Guarantees depend on the issuing insurer’s claims-paying ability.
Are Whole Life dividends guaranteed?
No. Some participating policies may pay dividends, but dividends and illustrated future values are not guaranteed. Compare the guaranteed values separately from any non-guaranteed illustration.
Can I use the cash value while I am living?
A policy may allow cash-value access, including loans, subject to its terms. Loans accrue interest and can reduce the death benefit. Surrender can end coverage, and an unpaid loan can contribute to lapse. Taxes may apply; ask a qualified tax adviser before taking money out.
How is Whole Life different from term life or IUL?
Term life covers a stated period and generally has no cash value. Traditional Whole Life typically has stated premium and value guarantees. IUL uses a different interest-crediting and funding structure. Compare the cost, duration and policy requirements rather than assuming one type is best.
Does contacting Anil start coverage or obligate me to buy?
No. A call, email, booking or website submission is a nonbinding inquiry. Coverage depends on the insurer’s approval and applicable policy and payment requirements. Anil receives carrier commissions and charges no consultation or service fees.
