California's Medigap Birthday Rule — A Valuable Advantage
California’s Birthday Rule gives existing Medigap policyholders a 60-day opportunity following their birthday to replace coverage with a policy offering equal or lesser benefits, without medical screening or a new waiting period.
This is not a first-time Medigap enrollment right and does not guarantee a lower premium. Compare benefits and quoted costs, confirm the deadline and effective date, and keep current coverage until the replacement is approved.
